Shackleford Wild Horses

The Wild Horses of Shackleford Banks have a good foundation of volunteers who have fought long and hard to keep the island undeveloped and full of wild horses. They do round-ups every few years and are put up for adoption. Since the foundation has been well-run for a while, only a few colts need to be adopted every round-up. Needless to say, they are bought quickly.
